After a break of two years, Nottingham City Council and One Nottingham are inviting nominations for people to be recognised through the Nottingham Awards 2022. The deadline for nominations is Monday 22 August 2022.
The Nottingham Awards recognise the efforts of individuals who have contributed substantially to the development, growth or wellbeing of the city of Nottingham and its residents.
The awards are awarded in three broad categories to people who have made their contribution mainly from one of the following sectors:
- the private sector
- the public sector
- the voluntary and community sector.
To be considered for an award the people nominated should not have received any other significant award (e.g. UK honour such as an MBE etc) for their achievements.
They are looking for people who:
- have exemplary service (paid or unpaid) and who have changed things; or
- have demonstrated innovation and entrepreneurship; or
- have the best sustained and most selfless voluntary service; or
- have delivered in a way that has brought distinction to Nottingham life; or
- who have contributed to Nottingham’s international reputation;
- and they are particularly interested in people who have excelled in the past two years, during the Covid pandemic.
Who would you nominate?
Jules Sebelin, NCVS Chief Executive Officer commented: "At NCVS we would find it incredibly challenging, in fact almost impossible, to pick just one person. As for who to nominate...can we just nominate the whole of the voluntary and community sector for the incredible, potentially life-saving job they did through the pandemic, with barely enough resource to survive!"
If you would like to make a nomination, you are encouraged to complete a nomination form which is available from awards@nottinghamcity.gov.uk.
Or you may simply email that address with the name of the person you wish to nominate and the reasons why you believe they should receive an award. You must provide your contact details and the contact details of the person whom you are nominating. Please do not inform the nominee that they have been nominated.
The awards will be judged by a panel of One Nottingham Board Members and Nottingham City Councillors. Their decision will be final.
