New award will honour creative community heroes

Creative people in the East Midlands who have gone the extra mile to help their families and/or the local community during the COVID-19 crisis are to be recognised with a new award.

The Kevin Ryan Creative Community Hero Award has been set up by young person's charity The Mighty Creatives, in memory of Kevin Ryan, 'a dear friend and colleague' of The Mighty Creatives who died earlier this year following a short illness. Kevin was the successful CEO of Charnwood Arts, a community arts organisation based in Loughborough. He was responsible for transforming the company from a small local forum into a pioneering, internationally recognised arts charity with partnerships involving local schools, Arts Council England, Leicestershire County Council and the University of Loughborough to name just a few.

If you know someone in your creative community who deserves recognition for their extraordinary acts in supporting their community, please nominate them for this special award.

To enter your nomination, please visit The Mighty Creatives website to fill in and submit the nomination form.

The closing date for nominations is 11.59pm on Sunday 18 October 2020.
