Dave Thomas, Volunteering Development Officer, at NCVS, writes...
It's the one day each year that is all about us, a day to celebrate Leaders of Volunteers! So whether you are a Volunteer Coordinator, Volunteer Manager or anyone else who supports volunteers in any way, please join Nottingham Community and Voluntary Service (NCVS) for a special Leaders of Volunteers Network (LoVN) meeting on International Volunteer Managers Day.
As our autumn network meeting is being held on IVM Day on 5 November, we will be focussing on opportunities for professional development. Participants at our online meeting will hear from two guests who each have very different perspectives on professional development and the development of volunteering programmes.
- Sarah Merrington, a trustee for the Association of Volunteer Managers, will explain more about the association and the benefits of joining
- Felicity Dwyer, from Stepping Up Training, will discuss available qualifications for Leaders of Volunteers, specifically the Level 3 Award in Management of Volunteers
The meeting will also feature a talk from NCVS' own Celina Adams, who will share details of our new training programme which includes a wide range of volunteering courses.
