Homelessness Response Fund opens

A £6 million Homelessness Response Fund has been launched by the Government to support frontline homelessness charities whose work has been directly affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) is providing the fund and Homeless Link, the membership body for frontline homelessness charities, will be distributing it.

Grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 are available for registered charities, Community Benefit Societies and Community Interest Companies, in England, working to support those rough sleeping or experiencing homelessness through the COVID-19 crisis. In order to be eligible for the fund, organisations must have an annual income of less than £5 million and more than half their beneficiaries must be homeless.

The fund will close on Wednesday 27 May 2020 and successful applicants will receive payments next month. All grants must be spent by 30 October 2020.
