Funding available for grassroots sports clubs in need

Cash 4 Clubs has teamed up with the charity Made By Sport to offer the opportunity for sports clubs and community organisations to receive £2,021 in unrestricted support through the new 'Clubs in Crisis' Fund. The fund is being administered at a local level by the Nottinghamshire Community Foundation.

In order to be eligible for this funding, sports clubs or community organisations working within the sport for development sector should be able to demonstrate that the Covid-19 pandemic has adversely affected them, either operationally or financially, and that they require funding to save, resume, or adapt their activity.

Eligible organisations include, charities registered in the UK, social enterprises, Community Interest Companies and other not-for-profit organisations.

The fund is specifically looking for applications from clubs and community organisations using sport to improve young people’s lives through one or more of the following means:

  • Developing life skills
  • Building strong communities
  • Improving mental health
  • Developing employability skills
  • Reducing crime and anti-social behaviour

The funding is unrestricted, so can be spent on core costs as well as on programme or capital costs.

There isn't a specific deadline for applications but the sooner you apply the better, as Nottinghamshire Community Foundation expects high demand for this funding and only has a certain amount of funding to award, on a rolling basis.

Further information and details of how to apply can be found on the Nottinghamshire Community Foundation website.
