Discretionary Business Grant Scheme

** UPDATE 02/06/2020: This Fund is now being referred to by Nottingham City Council as the Nottingham Small Business Fund, with a revised application form. The deadline for applications is Monday 15 June 2020. **

Since the launch of the Government's Business Support Grants scheme, many small businesses, including charities, have been unable to find the support they need. In response, the Government has now announced a new discretionary fund. This additional funding will help some small businesses and charities that previously fell outside the scope of the Business Support Grants scheme.

The scheme is aimed at small businesses, with a rateable value of under £51,000, and with fewer than 50 staff. Grants of up to £2,500, £5,000 and a maximum award of £10,000 will be available for businesses who were trading prior to 11 March and who have been ineligible for other grant funding. The funding is not for businesses who are eligible for the Small Business Rate Relief grant or the retail/hospitality/leisure operator grant.

Nottingham City Council are working on a process and criteria to administer these (albeit limited) funds to local businesses and charities.

More information on the scheme and detailed eligibility criteria is available on the Nottingham City Council website here. The online application form can now be accessed here.
