Since the launch of the Government's Business Support Grants scheme, many small businesses, including charities, have been unable to find the support they need. In response, the Government has now announced a new discretionary fund. This additional funding will help some small businesses and charities that previously fell outside the scope of the Business Support Grants scheme.
The scheme is aimed at small businesses, with a rateable value of under £51,000, and with fewer than 50 staff. Grants of up to £25,000 are available (eligibility criteria applies). The funding is not for businesses who are eligible for the Small Business Rate Relief grant or the retail/hospitality/leisure operator grant.
Nottingham City Council are working on a process and criteria to administer these (albeit limited) funds to local businesses and charities.
