Could you be a Barnardo's Supported Lodgings provider?

Barnardo’s are working with Nottingham City Council to recruit Supported Lodgings providers from Nottingham and the surrounding area.

Supported Lodgings is an important accommodation option offering a home and family environment to young people leaving Local Authority care as they make the transition to more independent living.

Do you have a spare room that you could offer to a vulnerable young person aged 16-21 who is not yet ready for independent living? Would you be prepared to share the rest of your home and offer support to a young person as they move on from care?

The Nottingham City Supported Lodgings service recruits, trains and supports people who can provide this accommodation and support. The service enables providers to acquire the skills and confidence to support a care experienced young person to develop independent living skills and to support them emotionally.

Supported Lodgings is something you can do alongside your current employment/commitments and you will receive a payment when a young person is living with you.

As part of the assessment process, you would be required to consent to checks in relation to DBS, health, local authority and references.

If you are interested in becoming a Supported Lodgings Provider, email supportedlodgingsnh@barnardos.org.uk or call 07395 372303.
