Care for nature with the Severn Trent Community Fund

Funding is available to non-profit organisations in the Severn Trent region and will be awarded to new projects aiming to boost environmental sustainability, reduce carbon and help communities care for nature.

Eligible organisations with an average annual income of less than £500,000 over the last three years can apply for £5,000, £10,000 or £20,000 of funding.

Projects must link to at least one of these key themes:

  • Green spaces - Projects that create and enhance green spaces and offset carbon. Examples include creating new natural habitats, like ponds and wildflower meadows.
  • Recycling and making the most of resources - Projects that help to reduce the carbon footprint of community spaces and activities. Examples include recycling and energy saving initiatives.
  • Water saving heroes - Projects that preserve water and reduce water use. Projects like this will limit the amount of carbon used for water production. Examples include grey water recycling and rainwater harvesting.

Please check the full eligibility criteria on the Severn Trent websiteThe deadline for applications is Sunday 20 February 2022.

An independent Customer Panel will decide on a final shortlist of projects in March 2022. Finalists will then feature in a public vote (for three weeks during April 2022) to decide which projects receive funding.

Virtual funding workshops are being held throughout January and February where you can ask questions about the Fund. Sign up to a funding workshop via Eventbrite.

You can also speak to a Fund Officer to chat through the application process. Email communityfund@severntrent.co.uk.
