Universal Credit scammers operating in Nottingham

Citizens Advice Nottingham & District is urging the public to be vigilant against fake Universal Credit websites operating in Nottingham.

When making a claim, the charity is asking people not to give out the long number and three-digit number on their bank card, as these wouldn't be requested during a genuine Universal Credit claim. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) only requests sort codes and account numbers.

All job centres nationally are now closed for all but the most vulnerable customers who cannot access the service via any other channel, and people are being encouraged to make their claims online. Claimants should only make claims via the official government website, click here

If you need support with carrying out your claim, the Citizens Advice Universal Credit helpline is available. For more information, click here.

Nottingham Women's Centre is able to support women in Nottingham with making a claim. Call them on 0115 941 1475.
