Choose a YGAM workshop date or discuss bespoke training. For professionals working with young people.
Online MS Teams
The Young Gamers and Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM) is a national charity with the social purpose to inform, educate and safeguard children and young people against the potential harms of gaming and gambling. We do this by offering professionals free interactive online workshops and the resources necessary to put learning into practice.
We offer a rolling programme of training. Sign up to a two part open workshop on one of our scheduled dates (see the web link below) or book a bespoke session for a group or team where we can look at what you’ll need in more detail.
Our workshops are relevant for teachers, youth workers and other professionals who work directly with young people.
The YGAM training is fully assured by City and Guilds as are our resources. We aim to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge to educate, inform, and safeguard young people from the potential harms of gaming and gambling and provide awareness of where to seek further support if necessary.
During the training we will cover:
• how young people are increasingly exposed to gaming and gambling and the blurred lines between the two
• the influence of advertising, particularly around sporting events
• why young people might become involved in gaming and gambling and what drives the behaviour
• the role of social media, in game purchases, loot boxes and the rise of Esports
• the signs of harm and where to seek help
All attendees will receive access to over 450 resources designed to be used directly with young people, with resources from KS2-KS5 and youth work specific resources we make sure to cover a broad range of topics and learning needs. Attendees will also receive a City and Guilds certificate to evidence their CPD as well as ongoing support and advice from YGAM.
