Registration is closed for this event
In this one-hour online session, we will identify some of the barriers that potential volunteers face to becoming involved in your organisation and share ideas to remove these barriers. Cost: £10 per participant

This session will be helpful for those who are new to working with volunteers or those who want to improve or gain new ideas for their group's volunteer management processes, making it a useful refresher for more experienced leaders.

Find out how you can help your volunteering programme deliver on your organisation's diversity and inclusion policies, by identifying some groups of potential volunteers who face barriers to volunteering.

From a language barrier, time commitments and transport through to disability, mental health and age, this session helps to spot the things that prevent volunteers joining us.

Together, we will look at ways to overcome those barriers and give the volunteer and the organisation a rewarding, fulfilling and effective volunteering experience.

We will consider:

  • Why are we concerned about barriers?
  • Defining barriers to volunteering
  • The impact of barriers
  • Breaking down barriers
  • Addressing specific barriers
  • Insurmountable barriers

The session will take place over Zoom, so please make sure you have access to this software before registering for a place.
