This session is suitable for anyone considering or wishing to set up a not-for-profit business with a social purpose.

Social enterprise, not for profit, community interest company (CIC) – what are they? Why can they be the more appropriate choice than a charity?

The session will help you make an informed choice so that you can still make a difference but not to your own detriment.

We will cover:

  • What is a social enterprise?
  • Some of the different options that are available to you
  • Why a company limited by guarantee and community interest company (CIC) are suitable options
  • Some useful tips and advice to help you towards registration and beyond


The session will take place over Zoom, so please make sure you have access to this software before registering for a place.
