Elizabeth Finn Care - how can we help you?
Many of you reading this article will be representatives of charities and voluntary organisations whose beneficiaries
suffer the effects of poverty - whether it be on their health, housing, mobility, dignity - or any of the
multitude of other effects of simply not having enough money to get by on. You will see everyday the repercussions
of the statistics that one in four families lives on less than £200 per week, and 13 million people
in the UK are living in poverty.
But here's another statistic - approximately half of all those adults living in poverty in the UK and Ireland are eligible
for help from Elizabeth Finn Care.
People often turn to Elizabeth Finn Care when circumstances beyond their control have meant they can no longer
cope financially - perhaps as the result of family breakdown, injury, physical or mental illness or redundancy.
The charity can help with a regular allowance, emergency grants, mobility aids and transport costs, house
repairs and household items - often making the difference between 'just surviving' and a dignified quality
of life.
The criteria governing who Elizabeth Finn Care can help are, broadly, that applicants must be:
-
British or Irish of any age
-
Living on a low income or means-tested benefit
-
Formerly employed in one of the wide range of qualifying occupations, or
-
A partner or child of someone employed as above.
For further information about eligibility, please telephone the Grant Enquiries line on 0800 413 220 or look
