Information and Consultation Act 2004
Since 2004, legislation was introduced to give employees rights to be informed and consulted on matters pertaining
to 'economic and employment issues'. Initially this only applied to workplaces with more than 150
employees. This was lowered to 100 employees in 2007.
As from 6th April 2008, the limit will be lowered to only 50 employees. The legislation
also specifically expands the definition of 'economic or employment matters' to include workplace occupational
or personal pension plans.
