New funding approach announced

1. The Main Fund
The foundation has announced that the majority of their funding will now be channelled through the Main Fund which will be driven by 'an open, less prescriptive way of working'. They expect to fund a wider range of work, although core interests for the foundation will remain culture, education, environment and social development.

2. Smaller funding 'Strands'
The new funding approach has led to new smaller, focused funding programmes. The first three will be Biodiversity, Museum and Heritage Collections and New approaches to learning. Further programmes ('strands') will be launched later in the year.
