At NCVS we support Nottingham’s community and voluntary groups in all sorts of different ways - from helping to set up a new group, to bidding for large grants or contracts. Whether your group is big or small, established or new, we can help strengthen and develop it.

We can provide information and advice concerning:

  • Setting up of a group
  • Day to day running of a group
  • Identifying sources of funding
  • Making funding applications
  • Helping committees and directors understand their roles and responsibilities
  • Developing policies and procedures
  • Reviewing your governing documents
  • Registering as a charity or company

This list is not exhaustive and we can advise on most things that go on in the community and voluntary sector. Some of our services are free, some we may need to make a small charge for.  Where we do have to charge we will make this clear in advance.

Free support for Nottingham city voluntary and community groups is available in the city’s 8 areas via Area Based Grant Lead organisations and Communities of Identity partnerships. The support you may be able to access will vary depending upon what’s available in your area or whether your group is predominantly working with refugees and asylum seekers, new and emerging communities or women and the LGBT community.

The following is a guide to where you should go if your group needs support:

Area 1 (Bulwell and Bulwell Forest wards) contact Right Track Social Enterprise Tel: 0115 9200 300 or email

Area 2 (Basford and Bestwood wards) contact NCVS Tel: 0115 934 8405 or email

Area 3 (Aspley, Bilborough and Leen Valley wards) contact Groundwork Greater Nottingham Tel: 0115 9788212
or email

Area 4 (Dunkirk & Lenton, Radford & Park and Arboretum wards) contact Castle Cavendish Tel: 0115 900 3100 or email

Area 5 (Berridge and Sherwood wards) contact NCVS Tel: 0115 934 8405 or email

Area 6 (Dales, Mapperley and St Ann’s wards) contact NCVS Tel: 0115 934 8405 or email

Area 7 (Wollaton East & Lenton Abbey and Wollaton West wards) contact Castle Cavendish Tel: 0115 900 3100 or email

Area 8 (Clifton North and Clifton South wards) Contact Meadows Partnership Trust Tel: 0115 9150077 or email

To access the above support, it would be a good idea to check which ward your group is in. This then tells you which of the above Areas to approach. If you don’t know then try googling your post code followed by ward.
