This course is for VCS organisations who need to know more about safeguarding children who use their services, to gain the skills you need to act appropriately and confidently to protect the children you work with. This will also include information to help organisations to update their children's safeguarding policies.

Prevent (anti-radicalisation) Workshop

 

24 November - 10am-12.30pm

12 December - 1pm-3.30pm

 

All at NCVS, 7 Mansfield Road, Nottingham

 

Free

 

A workshop for voluntary sector staff and volunteers, in partnership with Nottingham City Council staff. Places are limited and priority will be given to registered members of the Vulnerable Adult Provider Network (VAPN) or Children and Young People's Provider Network (CYPPN). Membership is free. Join here.

 

The workshop will:

  • clarify the purpose and principles of the Government Prevent Strategy
  • clarify our duty under the legislation
  • provide information about local processes and data
  • provide the opportunity to discuss and explore issues and challenges that Prevent raises.

 

Participants are required to have done the Home Office Prevent e-learning course before attending, as the workshop follows on from this rather than covering the same content.

You must bring your certificate of completion to the session.
