Making a booking

Please complete one booking form for each person. You can photocopy the form as many times as you need. You can download a booking form or you can telephone our Training Administrator on 0115 934 8400 who will email one to you. Post your booking form with full payment to Training, NCVS, 7 Mansfield Road, Nottingham, NG1 3FB.

When we get your booking form, we will send you a confirmation letter. The letter will tell you if the place is confirmed, or is reserved waiting for your payment. Please let us know if you have not received a letter from us within ten days of sending your booking form. You cannot attend a course if you have not had written confirmation from us.

If a course is full

If a course is full we will send you a letter saying you are on a waiting list. If a place becomes available we will contact you again.

Joining instructions

We will send joining instructions to you at least seven days before a course, which will include venue details. If you have not heard from us six days before an event contact us on 0115 934 8400.

Payment

Courses are aimed at Nottingham city voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups. We can offer places to private or statutory sector groups, but we will charge double the fee. We can also support VCS groups from surrounding areas, and development workers from local infrastructure organisations. For these two categories of organisation we will agree which fee level to charge based on the individual circumstances.

We can only secure a booking if full payment has been sent by cheque.  Please make cheques payable to ‘Nottingham CVS’.

Substitutions by you

If you have paid for a place on a course, there will be no additional charge if a substitute person from your organisation wishes to come on the same date and same course instead.

If a substitute is attending, please let us know no later than two working days before the course date. This is so that we can make sure that the register, name badge and certificate are amended.

Cancellations/Non-attendance

You are liable for the whole fee unless we receive written notification of a cancellation at least ten days before the event.

Cancellations with less than days notice or non-attendance will not be refunded.

Refunds

We will refund the course fee if you have given us at least ten days notice.

Cancellation by NCVS

We reserve the right to withdraw a course at any time. This may happen for a number of reasons, for example, low numbers of bookings or last-minute unavailability of the trainer.

In the event that NCVS withdraws a course, participants will be offered a full refund, or a credit for an alternative course or date if applicable. NCVS cannot be liable for anything other than refunds of course fees, credits or alternative dates.

Conduct

NCVS asks that all attendees of our training courses respect the views and diversity of the group. Our trainers will not tolerate inappropriate comments or behaviour.

Can't afford this training?

We can offer limited free places to groups that would otherwise not be able to afford our training.  There’s no form to fill in, just contact us discuss your request.

• Pop-in: Monday to Friday, between 10am and 1pm and ask for helpdesk.

You are more likely to get a free place if

• Your group has an income of less than £10,000 per year
• The training is for volunteers (including management committee / trustees / directors) rather than paid employees
• Your group has had fewer than two free places in the current year
• We may make exceptions to the above.

We aim to offer two free places per course so the sooner you apply the more chance you have – first come first served! 

Please note: If you are offered a free place, you’ll need to send in the usual booking form and payment.  We will reimburse your payment after you have attended.  We ask for payment in advance because in the past some people have been offered free places but haven’t attended.

Data protection

NCVS will use the information you provide on your booking form, and additional information you may provide in the future, for administering our training courses and for monitoring purposes.

We will not disclose this information to any other person or organisation, except in connection with the above purpose. All course participants are provided with a list of their co-participants’ names and organisations, but no further details.
