Student Placements
The scheme enables social work students to work with voluntary organisations for supervised work experience.
The
services provided include:
- Entitlement to membership of voluntary sector student placement consortium
- Co-ordination and development of voluntary sector placements
- Promoting and maintaining anti-oppressive practice
- Vetting of placements and practice teachers
- General involvement in the delivery of the professional element of practice learning
- Support to small voluntary organisations, particularly through long-arm practice teaching
- Professional support to voluntary agencies, including support and training of practice teachers and
workplace supervisors
- Administration of the consortium
- Opportunities to participate at meetings of the Universities' committees, panels, Boards etc. and in
recruitment and teaching of students
Social Work Students at Nottingham University and Nottingham Trent University should contact their course
tutors for more information. Social Work Students at other universities are not normally dealt with NCVS.
