Planning Your Event
The planning of your event is crucial. Think whether you need a committee; allocate duties by selecting people
for the committee who will bring different skills, experience and diversity to the event. If you are going
to have to look for funding or sponsorship it is useful to have someone on your committee with experience
of this.
Always ensure that you book a date well in advance, as venues get booked up quickly and it will give you
more time to plan.
Write a checklist to ensure that you do not forget anything in your planning.
This can be put together by a 'brain-storm' with the committee members.
Always ensure that you keep a written record of what is planned and the action taken. This will minimise
the risk of having to 'remember' everything. It will also give you a record of what you need to do if you
want to repeat it again or run a similar event.
