Opening The Event
Decide if you want to have someone to 'open' the event. This could be a person from your local community
or a celebrity, perhaps from the local radio etc. Ensure that you have made arrangements for them to be
heard if you are expecting them to speak by the provision of PA equipment and if you want to present them
with a small gift to say ‘thank you’ eg flowers. Ensure that the celebrity is escorted round the event by
a member of your committee.
