NCVS's Green Group

NCVS Green Group is a working team that was set up in 2001 to look objectively at green and ethical issues in NCVS and to try to minimize its environmental footprint.

The Green Group is about promoting 'green' issues and ethical solutions for a cleaner, cheaper, more energy efficient and environmentally aware NCVS, and has taken up the climate change challenge by introducing energy efficiency, recycling & composting to its city centre offices. By looking at what little steps the CVS can make - like using local suppliers, researching a cleaner and cheaper energy supply, recycling unused IT equipment, introducing Fair Trade to the building - they are not only helping NCVS be greener and save energy, but are saving money, too!.

The Green Group is made up of staff and volunteers working outside their normal roles to raise awareness of green issues within its Voluntary Action Centre building.
