Administered by Nottingham CVS, the Children and Young People’s Providers Network (CYPPN) is a city-based forum for community and voluntary organisations that provide services or support to children and young people in Nottingham.

The network meet every two months at the voluntary action centre

Who can join the network?

Membership is open to any community and voluntary organisation providing services or support to children and young people from 0 - 24 years in Nottingham. You do not need to be based in the City but you must be providing services to Children and Young People who do live within Nottingham City.

To join you need to complete this online form, CYPPN registration form.

How much does it cost?

Membership of the network is free. All we ask is that you tell us about your organisation so we can make sure you are sent the right information, including funding and training opportunities.

Do I have to attend all the meetings?

We know how busy organisations are so you don’t have to attend every meeting. The meetings are for information sharing, and we make sure that all members receive the information from all of the meetings – including any information which guests have presented.

Membership benefits

As a network member you will receive regular information on consultations, events and training. There is the opportunity too to directly contribute to the Children’s Partnership Board, and we also have representatives that sit on the children and young adults Safeguarding Board who can take any safeguarding queries directly to the right people including other commissioners.

Through the network we aim to ensure that Nottingham City Council, the Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group and Nottingham City Public Health are aware of your service and how your organisation contributes to the lives of children and young people in Nottingham. In addition, we have links with similar networks in the wider county and the East Midlands, and we are members of various national organisations and forums representing children and young people such as East Midlands Voluntary Youth and Children England.

We aim not only to ensure that your voice is heard in Nottingham, but that you are contributing to the regional and national agenda for children and young people.

Is there any other support I can access as a member of the network?

There will be an annual review of training and development needs of the network, and this information will be used to develop training for network members.

We want to make sure that you are aware of services that are being commissioned in the local area and how you can access opportunities for your organisation.

We want to make sure that you can prove your services work for children and young people in Nottingham, and we will help with this by tailoring training sessions and brokering relationships with organisations that help you achieve your aims and measure your impact.

Later this year we will be launching an online forum where you can keep up to date and connected with the work of the network between meetings.

Partnership working

The Children and Young People's Providers Network aims to bring organisations together and work in partnership with one another.

To communicate how the networks are designed to promote this positive way of working, network members are asked to agree to adopt and work to the Children and Young People's Providers Network Partnership Framework.

The framework lays out the ways in which network members work together, with respect, to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people in Nottingham City.

The Framework covers five strands:

1. Strong leadership and partnership working

2. Enhanced community action, equality and inclusion

3. Balanced strategic relationships

4. Effective, timely consultation and policy development

5. Responsive commissioning and contracting

The CYPPN holds a place on a number of strategic boards across the city, this is to ensure that decision and policy makers are informed of our work and that strategic planning takes place with full VCS involvement. If you have any issues you’d like to raise with these boards please contact us at cyppn@nottinghamcvs.co.uk.
